Farewell, Odeon

April 20th, 2005

Unless this is one of Chicken John’s pranks, the Odeon is closing.

What a blow to San Francisco. If I learned the Golden Gate Bridge will be dismantled at the end of the month, that news wouldn’t strike me any harder.

No joke. Many, many of the people and things I love most about San Francisco are somehow associated with this place.

Thanks Chicken John, for this fantastic creativity-magnet called the Odeon. It was too good to last. I can’t wait to witness your next project.

    A multiple venue night

    Hi,

I’ve been visiting your site from time to time. 🙂 I’m from Warsaw, Poland nad it seems that there are many exciting things to see in San Francisco. 🙂 From your site i’ve surfed onto the Odeon’s Bar and Laughing Squeed’s sites where I’ve read about this great idea of Ask Dr Hal. 🙂 Good example of thing that I often call “social magic”. The unusual thing that connects many persons who seem anonymous to themselves (like flash mobs did). Visit my site (it’s in polish unfortunatelly, so you problably won’t understand much)… i’ve mentioned few words about Ask Dr Hal idea.
