Lobster-Grab Game
![]() I'm in San Diego for the O'Reilly Emerging Technology conference. This machine at the restaurant "Dick's Last Resort" fascinated me. It works like the carnival/arcade games where you maneuver the robot arm and try to pick up a toy and drop it into the chute. But here, the robot claw drops into a live lobster tank rather than into a pile of toys. The machine is stationed in the part of the restaurant where people wait for their tables, and for $2 you get a shot at grabbing a lobster. What do you think happens when you snag one?
